Ray Roberts Lake
Ray Roberts Lake is a reservoir on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in Texas. It was created by damming the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in 1974, and named after former Dallas mayor, Raymond S. Roberts. The beach area is great for swimming and sunbathing because there are no waves or currents at all! You’ll find picnic tables and grills where you can have fun with your friends or family members while enjoying some food on this beautiful day by Ray Roberts Lake! This lake is especially suitable for those who love unforgettable scenery because it is considered one of the most beautiful lakes among Texans. 
Lake Lewisville
Lake Lewisville is a popular destination for boaters and anglers. It’s one of the largest lakes in Texas, so there are plenty of possibilities for some quality time. You can swim, fish, and boat to Lake Lewisville. If you like to swim a lot, Lake Lewisville will especially appeal to you, since it has a designated beach area. Whether you come here alone or with your family, there are great places for everyone. There are some pretty good parks around the lake itself, so if you get a little tired of sunbathing, you can still fully enjoy the place. 
Lake Texoma
Lake Texoma is the largest reservoir in Texas, and it’s located on the border of Oklahoma and Texas. This body of water is a popular vacation spot for boating and fishing, but it’s also great for swimming. The lake has been known for its clear blue water since it was constructed in the 1960s. Several institutions, including the U.S. Army Engineer Corps, were directly involved in beautifying the lake. So you can not worry – there is definitely everything for your comfort. 
Lake Grapevine
Lake Grapevine is a man-made lake on the Trinity River in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. It’s located in North Texas, about 45 miles from downtown Dallas. The lake was created by damming up Bear Creek in 1912 and has since grown to become the largest man-made lake in Texas and the third largest in America. Lake Grapevine offers plenty of opportunities for swimming, boating, and fishing–the perfect place to spend an afternoon with friends or family! 
White Rock Lake
White Rock Lake is one of the most popular lakes in Dallas, but it can be hard to get a spot on the shore. It’s best to visit White Rock during the week or early morning on weekends if you want to avoid crowds. The lake itself is about 3 miles long and has plenty of spots for swimming–the north side has more shade and privacy, while the south side is more open with grassy areas where you can set up shop with friends or family members. There are also lifeguards on duty during summer months (Memorial Day through Labor Day), which makes this an even safer place to go swimming! 
Little Elm Park Beach
Little Elm Park Beach is located in Little Elm, Texas, and is open from sunrise to sunset. This park has picnic tables, a playground and dog park, a concession stand, restrooms, and more! It’s a popular spot for picnics and swimming as well as fishing. 
Twin Points Beach
Twin Points Beach is located in Grand Prairie, Texas. It is a great place to go for a swim, but there are no lifeguards on duty at Twin Points Beach. However, this does not mean that you can’t enjoy swimming there safely! In fact, the lack of lifeguards makes it easier for you to swim in peace and quiet–you won’t have to worry about getting kicked out if you’re trying to relax after work or school. Twin Points Beach also offers picnic tables where you can lay down your towel or blanket while enjoying the view of Lake Ray Hubbard from its sandy shoreline. If you’ve got kids who want some fun in the sun while learning how they can help protect our environment (and maybe even make some new friends), then bring them along too: there’s plenty of room here so everyone can have fun together! 
Burgers Lake
Burgers Lake is a man-made lake located in southern Dallas. It was created in 1963 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, who used dirt from nearby landfills to create it. Burgers Lake has become quite popular over the years as a fishing spot and boating area, but it also has an amazing beach with plenty of shade trees for those looking to enjoy some quality time outdoors. The beach area features picnic tables and grills if you want to bring your own food or cook out there; however, there are also concession stands where you can purchase food if desired (and they’re open during the summer months only). The pier at Burgers Lake extends well into deep water so swimmers can enjoy swimming without worrying about getting too far from shore–but they should still be cautious nonetheless! 
Eisenhower State Park Beach
Eisenhower State Park Beach is located in Denison, Texas. The park offers many activities including swimming, fishing, and picnicking. It’s open year-round and is a great place to spend the day with your family or friends! These lakes are the best in terms of facilities for swimming and sunbathing. At the same time, they are all located fairly close to Dallas. This makes them the best choice for your vacation. However, there are still many great lakes in Texas where you can have a great vacation or weekend getaway.
